A Boundless Kayak Adventure Through the Scioto Mile

Adaptive Sports Connection is hosting our First Annual EveryBody Paddles Kayak Adventure trip through the Scioto Mile on Sunday, September 23, 2018.

People of all ages and abilities are welcome to join what is sure to be an adventure-filled day. Paddle through downtown Columbus - under bridges, past COSI and Bicentennial Park and finishing at Scioto Audubon Park. Enjoy snack stations, music, and surprises along the journey!

Kayaks, adaptive equipment, instructors, and transportation from Audubon to Nationwide Blvd provided.

TICKET: $50.00
If you are requesting a tandem kayak, both people need to register individually and mention each other in the comments

LOCATION: We will launch at 650 West Nationwide Blvd.
Parking is available. We will provide transportation from Scioto Audubon Park back to Nationwide.

Volunteers

Adaptive Sports Connection is hosting our First Annual EveryBody Paddles Kayak Adventure trip through the Scioto Mile on Sunday, September 23, 2018.

Below is a list of the volunteer positions that you can sign up for. Volunteers should note the time of the positions and may register for up to 2 positions. Volunteer positions are all first come first serve, and on water volunteer positions will be filled first by ACA certified instructors.

SCHEDULE:

8:00am-3:00pm Trailer/Truck Driver
Drive U-Haul truck with boats and safety equipment from ASC to put it, then to take out to pick up boats and return to ASC

10:30am- 1:00pm Registration Worker
Check in event attendees at put in. Collect money, get waivers signed, etc.

10:30am-1:00pm Parking Attendant
Help to direct parking at 650 W Nationwide Blvd

10:30am-1:00pm Life Jackets
Help fit attendees with life jackets

10:30am-1:00pm Paddle Fitting
Help attendees choose properly fitted paddles

10:30am-1:00pm Equipment Mover/Launch Help
Help move boats to the launch site, help attendees into boats and launch

10:30am-3:00pm Adaptive Equipment Driver
Help move personal adaptive equipment (such as wheelchairs and other assistive devices) from put in to take out. Personal vehicle use required, and large vehicle such as van or SUV preferred.

1:00pm-3:00pm Take Out Help
Assist at kayak take out location. Help attendees out of boats and help to load boats on trailers

10:30am-3:00pm On Water Help
ACA certified instructors will be given first choice at this volunteer position. If you are not ACA certified, you may not be chosen for this position.
