We help children and adults own their own bike – specifically tailored to meet their needs and abilities, and provide people with disabilities with all the classic benefits of riding a bike!

What are the goals of this program?
Our goal is to provide people with disabilities with all the classic benefits of riding a bike: mobility, strength, exercise, coordination, interaction with family and friends, and just pure fun! Nearly every rider can be successful, no matter their diagnosis, through our full line of highly adjustable trykes and myriad of adaptive accessories.

Steps for the Bikes to Go Program
STEP 1
Complete a Therapeutic Tricycle Request Form and send it to Adaptive Sports Connection, an Ohio chapter of AMBUCS.
This application will help us better understand your needs, and help to identify the best therapist to perform your bike evaluation. Please tell us about your child and why you want a bike for him or her. Indicate on your form, if you will need financial aid.
Forms can be submitted either electronically to info@adaptivesportsconnection.org or through first class mail to Adaptive Sports Connection, 6000 Harriott Dr., Powell, OH 43065. Submitting a photograph of the completed form is acceptable.

Register for a Free Bike Evaluation with a Trained Evaluator
What: Our evaluators obtain the necessary measurements and help you pick out the most appropriate options and adaptations for your child or you to make riding fun and safe. Your evaluation will take approximately 30 minutes.
When: We hold bike evaluations on the second Tuesday every month. Go to our Event Calendar to register. If you are unable to attend one of our Tuesday evening bike evaluation dates, call the office at (614) 389-3921 to arrange for an alternative time.
We partner with many physical therapists at Ohio Health, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Memorial Hospital - Pediatric Therapy and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Your treating therapist MAY be able to conduct your evaluation.

STEP 4
Secure funding to purchase your Adaptive Therapeutic Cycle.
At the Adaptive Sports Connection, we want everyone who could benefit from an adaptive cycle, regardless of circumstances, to be able to receive their own customized adaptive bike.

There are two ways to fund your new Adaptive Therapeutic Cycle.

Adaptive Sports Connection participates in fundraising activities throughout the year to benefit the Boundless Bike Giveaway Fund.
To receive money from the Boundless Bike Giveaway Fund, please be sure to indicate on your AmTryke application that you will be seeking financial aid.
“Future Riders” are placed on the Boundless Bike Giveaway list based on the date the application is received. No bikes can be ordered until they are fully funded. You will be notified once your bike is funded and has been ordered.
